Royal & Prior Comprehensive School

Open Day Friday 16th October 2009

On Friday 16th October, an Open Day was held in the school when parents, 5th & 6th class primary school pupils and their teachers had an opportunity to see many aspects of school life.  Teachers were available to provide information in their subject areas and samples of students’ work were on display.
After being welcomed by Mr. D. G. West, Principal, visitors enjoyed a variety of musical and drama performances.  This was followed by a guided tour of the school and classrooms.  Canteen staff provided soup and sandwiches for all at lunchtime.
Sporting events were also included in the programme, including senior boys, junior girls and junior boys’ hockey matches as well as basketball and badminton tournaments.
It was evident that staff had put a lot of effort into organising the day’s programme and the Indian summer weather was an added bonus.
