Charity Assistance

In  2009/10 Through direct giving and special invitations including tea/coffee mornings, non-uniform events and fasting to mention a few, students raised funds for a range of charities including Concern, Christian Aid, Haiti appeal Bothar, MS/Meningitis Trust, RNLI, Samaritans and the Irish Cancer Society.

Charity Events 2009/2010

Coffee Morning
On Friday 23rd October, Mrs Curran hosted a staff coffee morning during break time. A total of €350 was raised which has been donated to the Ugandan Royal School project.

Concern Fast
On Thursday 3rd December, 25 pupils took part in a 24 hour fast in aid of Concern, organised by Mrs. Mc Clean. This years total raised has yet to be calculated but since 1990 Royal & Prior pupils have raised €28,000 for the charity. Well done to everyone who participated and thanks to all who contributed.      

 

Candy Canes
Transition Year students raised a total of €250 from the sale of candy canes which will be donated to the Simon Community.

Haiti Appeal
The student council organised a collection raising a total of €450.  Thanks to pupils and staff who gave so generously.  The money goes to Concern (Haiti Appeal).

Transition Year students raised a total of €300 from the sale of refreshments during the parent/teacher meetings.  €200 will go to Concern (Haiti Appeal)


CSPE class 2A raised €486 by bag packing in Tesco, organised by Mrs. McCandless.  The money will also go to Concern (Haiti Appeal).
   
Heart Foundation.
€100 raised by TY students during the parent/teacher meetings will go to the Irish Heart Foundation.
